MET Opportunities is Hiring a Parent Educator Near Silsbee, TX

Summary:

The Parent Educator will coordinate and monitor the delivery of services in accordance with PAT Essential Requirements, PAT Quality Standards and the affiliates policies and procedures.

  • The Parent Educator will exercise a high level of independence in making decisions and commitments within guidelines of corporate policies and procedures.
  • Detail and multi-task oriented. Strong organizational, interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Able to resolve conflicts, creative and resourceful with time management skills.
  • Have a commitment to reflective supervision, data collection and continuous quality improvement.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor or four year degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Health, Psychology or a related field is recommended. A 2 year degree or 60 credit hours will be accepted in Early Childhood or related field. A high school diploma or GED and 2 years previous supervised work experience with young children and/or parents.
  2. Must pass criminal background check and is subject to the agency’s drug and alcohol testing program.
  3. Negative Tuberculosis Screen, First Aid certification, CPR certification with emphasis on children and toddlers.
  4. Extensive travel required in the area; must be able to travel outside project area as assigned.
  5. May come into contact with childhood diseases and blood on occasion.
  6. Possess a valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable driving record, as approved by the agency’s vehicle insurance carrier.
  7. Employee must have an account with a financial institution that can process financial transactions through MET’s electronic payroll system.
  8. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer functions.
